Union Catalogues: A union catalog is a combined library catalogue describing the collections of a number of libraries, participating in a resource sharing programme.

  • DELNET’s (Union Catalogue) Coverage (for ID and Password contact library)
    DELNET maintains an online union catalogue of books available in its member-libraries. DELNET at present has 5002 libraries as its members. The following is a brief geographical break-up :

    India (In 33 States and centrally administered areas) 4978

    Total: 5002

    This union catalogue is continuously updated and is growing in size. The information can be retrieved by author, title, subject, conference, series, etc. It has 2,03,71,835 bibliographic records. The request for inter-library loan can be placed through the online system.

    Delnet also provide access to its following databases:

    Union List of Current Periodicals, UnionCatalogue of Periodicals, Database of Periodical Articles, CD-ROM Database, Union List of Video Recordings, Union List of Sound Recordings, Database of Theses and Dissertations, Union List of Newspapers, Database of E-books, Profile of Member-Libraries.

  • INFLIBNET ‘s (INDCAT) Coverage
    IndCat: Online Union Catalogue of Indian Universities is unified Online Library Catalogues of books, theses and journals available in major university libraries in India. The union database contains bibliographic description, location and holdings information for books, journals and theses in all subject areas available in more than 160 university libraries across the country. A Web-based interface is designed to provide easy access to the merged catalogues. The IndCat is a major source of bibliographic information that can be used for inter-library loan, collections development as well as for copy cataloguing and retro-conversion of bibliographic records. The IndCat consists three components available in open access to users and librarians.
